PSD's OCI and GMI Benchmark Surveys: 2019 Recap and the Launch of the 2020 Surveys

May 27th, 2pm - 3pm EST
PSD’s Benchmarking Program was created in 2015 with the launch of the Open Cities Index (OCI) and has since been coupled by the Geospatial Maturity Index (GMI), first introduced in 2018. The surveys serve as a tool for public sector organizations to benchmark their open data and geospatial programs among their peers and to consider ways to mature their efforts in their fields.
In this webinar, PSD’s Sloane Sweazey and Will Kluska will round up the trends and highlights demonstrated in the 2019 OCI and GMI surveys. The forthcoming 2020 surveys – launching on May 20th, 2020 – will also be discussed in detail, examining the new questions added to each survey and considering new trends the surveys aim to capture this year.
A snapshot of PSD’s Benchmarking Program will also be provided, including projected timelines for survey results, OCI and GMI trophy awards, and subsequent reports and material available to your organization once you have completed the survey (webinars, State of Maturity reports, etc.). Additionally, the webinar will provide an overview of the core elements of the surveys such as the Walk-Through Guides, marking rubrics, and details of survey functionality on the SurveyMonkey platform.
Whether your organization plans on completing the 2020 OCI or GMI survey (or both!), the webinar will provide a comprehensive synopsis of PSD’s Benchmarking Program and will serve as a resource for both new and existing survey participants as you look to complete the surveys and mature your own respective open data or geospatial programs.
