Accessibility - AB

provincial resource

While Alberta does not have legislation specific to accessibility for disabled persons, the AHR Act recognizes all people, including those with physical and mental disabilities, are equal in dignity, rights, and responsibilities. Accommodation must therefore be made to certain rules, standards, policies, workplace cultures, and physical environments may have to be adapted so as not to have a negative impact on those with disabilities (among other groups). As such, organizations have a legal duty to accommodate.
